On November 7, 2017 a conference entitled "Media and Intercultural Dialogue" was held in Prague. The Conference was organized in cooperation with the Prague Group of accredited ambassadors of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation under chairmanship of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Institute of Prague International Affairs
Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic, Chairman of the Prague Group of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Farid Shafiyev and Director of the Prague International Relations Institute Petr Kratochvil made speeches at the opening.
The Azerbaijani ambassador stressed the importance of resolving problematic issues through the intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding. The Ambassador emphasized that the President of Azerbaijan H.E. Ilham Aliyev, declared the Islamic Solidarity Year in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2017.
Mr. Hikmat Hajiyev, the Head of the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan delivered a speech about Azerbaijan's multiculturalism traditions, its contribution to the promotion of religions and intercultural dialogue, the Baku Process and the successful policies pursued by Azerbaijan. He also touched upon the invasion of Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan which resulted ethnic cleansing of 1 million Azerbaijani internally displaced people.
