Visa procedures for foreigners arriving to the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of a visit to the State of Qatar in connection with the World Football Championship

• Foreigners and stateless persons arriving to the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of a visit to the State of Qatar in connection with the World Football Championship (2022 FIFA World Cup) to be organized in the State of Qatar in 2022, will be able to obtain visas on arrival at the international airports of the Republic of Azerbaijan from November 20 till December 20, 2022.

One of the below mentioned documents is required for visa issuance:

1. An accreditation card or other document confirming accreditation in accordance with the relevant rules of “Q22” company and International Football Association Federation, the international organizers of 2022 FIFA World Cup.
2. A ticket or a document that confirms obtaining a ticket for 2022 FIFA World Cup, in relation to citizens of countries whose football teams participating in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and stateless persons permanently residing in those countries.

Visa requirements

To obtain a visa for travel to the Republic of Azerbaijan the following documents must be submitted to the Consular section of the Embassy:

1. An invitation from Azerbaijan. (Invitation should be sent through Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan).

For business, education and humanitarian visas: if an invitation from a receiving party or partner is not sent through Consular Department of the MFA, travelers should submit an invitation received by fax directly from a receiving party in Azerbaijan and a letter of request from the employer.

For tourist visas: confirmation from receiving tourist organization in Azerbaijan or from a hotel is required. Tourist visa is valid for exact dates of hotel accommodations purchased in advance.

Please, answer all questions by typing or clearly printing in ink on both left and right sides of the application.

2. Original passport or travel document (photocopies will not be accepted).

3. Two passport-size photos.

4. Consular fee for issuing visas:

From September 1, 2014 all kind of entry visas for EU citizens, except citizens of Denmark, United Kingdom and Ireland, cost 35 euros. Single entry visa for citizens of other countries costs 20 US dollars, multiple entry visa costs 350 US dollars.

Diplomatic and service passports are fee-exempted

The Embassy will not be able to reimburse payments that have been done without the agreement of Consular Section.

5. Processing time - from 10 to 15 days

6. Reception hours are from 10.00 to 12.30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

7. All foreigners visiting Azerbaijan for a period of more than 30 days must register their passports with the local passport-registration authorities.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons upon their arrival in the Republic of Azerbaijan can get entry visas in the visa sections in the international airports of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the following cases:

1. In the cases envisaged in the interstate and intergovernmental treaties of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

2. Persons visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan by the official invitation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Head of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic;

3. Persons visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan by the official invitation of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the heads of the central executive power bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairman (Governor) of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Head of Administrative Department of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Head of Special Medical Service of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the management of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslim Department, heads of the foreign companies operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with the international treaties supported by the Republic of Azerbaijan, agreed with the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

4. Members of the diplomatic, administrative and technical staff of the foreign diplomatic missions, consulates, and offices of the international organizations in the Republic of Azerbaijan and their family members, as well as foreign citizens visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan with special diplomatic missions;

5. Persons visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan by the official invitation of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Azerbaijan to participate in the operations to eliminate the consequences of emergency situations;

6. Persons visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan due to the death of a family member, on the basis of the relevant confirmation documents;

7. In the cases visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan of the citizens of foreign countries where the diplomatic missions and consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan are not accredited and having straight air line with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
